The Alternate Method For the Cigar Lighter

Background Details

This is just an alternate version for the conversion of the cigar lighter which does not require the cutting of the wiring loom. This is the method I use when I send out the conversion kits.

Tools Required

• As listed for the conversion

• As listed for the conversion

Step 1

• Remove the bulb AND the 2 metal contacts as they are attached to each other.
• Cut as shown in the picture
• Drill the center of the holder approximately 5mm. This is to allow for the resistor.

Step 2

• Take 1 x 3mm LED and 1 resistor.
• Solder the resistor to the NEGATIVE led of the LED.
• Solder the LED/Resistor to the legs as shown

Step 3

• Place the legs back into the holder, if possible try to push both legs at the same time - pillars are quite good for this

Step 4

• With the LED in place, bend it over approximately 90 degrees, as shown in the picture. Take care not to break the solder joint.
