Ok, lets start with the basics.

Your probably thinking I am quite unfortunate (with the current state of affairs) being dual national, and being born on valentines day. All I can say is "Don't Blame Me!" I had nothing to do with it. The reason I'm a dual national is that my parents are both British but were working in America for a few years.. need I tell you more? Anyway I was born on 14th Feb at 7pm in the US, how ever the time I would have been born in the UK would have been Feb 15th! due to the time difference.

When I was nearly 2 years old, we moved back to the UK, well Wales to be precise where my parents set up a restaurant and B & B. We left there when I was 7, to a little village called Llanymynech, where, once again my parents set up a restaurant, the B & B did not come till 15 years later. I went to school, college, and finally Lancaster University where I eventually left with an Honours degree in Electronic Engineering. Being given so much hope "that a degree will get you a good job" at the beginning, seamed to have disappeared by the end. I applied to over 70 companies for engineering jobs, I got 12 replies and out of those 12, only 3 interviews. Talk about morale braking. At this point I decided to join the RAF as an Engineering Officer. I made it to the Officer And Aircrew Selection Centre where they said I "lacked commitment" !?

While thinking what to do with my new found degree, or in other works trying to find a job, a local builder (customer of my parents business) needed a little help in the office - so I did it. I ended up rough designing houses and site layouts (all checked buy a civil engineer) - of which some have been built! Not bad considering I have no civil engineering experience. Unfortunately I could only do this job for so long - as it turns out I was there for 18 months. I decided to take another career change. I joined the RAF as an Avionics Technician - where I still am and quite enjoying it.

Having been in the RAF for almost 9 years now, and still loving it. Over this period, I have been to Kuwait (for the 2nd Gulf War - I'm now a war veteran... ), numerous times to Qatar and Afghanistan, and collected 3 medals in the process. Even though Afghanistan is some-what of a topical debate at the moment, I prefer it out there to Qatar. Where else can you drink coffee while you carry a weapon, sat in the middle of a mind field getting shot at while listening to some Americans do Cold Play cover songs - badly.

Well. Would you belive it. I've been Promoted.

I hope you found this of some interest, if you didn't, well, I didn't make you read it all.
